Many people describe this area as the \u201cTuscany of 50 years ago\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life here is rather leisurely, people take their time for an espresso in the bar and a chat with neighbours, and strangers are welcomed with curiosity. You quickly become part of the local community if you want to be.<\/p>\n\n\n

The big cities of Turin and Milan, on the other hand, offer city life within easy reach and Genoa, Verona and Venice also show their very individual charm just a few hours away by car. Surrounded by the Nordic lake district of Lago Como, Maggiore and Orta, the Italian Riviera, Portofino, Cinque Terre \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

there is so much to discover here.<\/p>\n\n\n

Family-run wine cantinas, delicious cheese and olive oil tastings and the famous Piedmont truffles in autumn. Plus local fruit and vegetables with fresh pasta, made in small production, traditional meat variations or a delicious risotto made from regional rice cultivation on the river Po.<\/p>\n\n\n

All this in the midst of green vineyards, blooming hazelnut groves, red poppy fields, sheep and sunflower meadows as far as the eye can see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
